SundayMorning.—YoucannotsurelymeantodegradetheJoanofArcintoapotgirl.Youarenotgoing,Ihope,toannextothatmostsplendidornamentofSoutheyspoemallthiscockandabullstoryofJoanthepublicansdaughterofNeufchatel,withthelamentableepisodeofawaggoner,hiswife,andsixchildren;thetexturewillbemostlamentablydisproportionate.Thefirstfortyorfiftylinesoftheseaddendaare,nodoubt,intheirway,admirable,too;butmanywouldprefertheJoanofSouthey.
